Rosa Candela is a PhD student in Data Science under the supervision of Prof. Pietro Michiardi and Prof. Maurizio Filippone. Her research is part of a project with Amadeus and it is focused on Machine Learning with Bayesian inference techniques. Beside this, she studies distributed Stochastic Gradient Descent, to obtain scalable learning models.
Rosa received her Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering in 2015 and her Master’s degree in ICT For Smart Societies in 2017, both from Politecnico di Torino. Her Master’s Thesis was carried out in the Data Science department of EURECOM. Objectives of the thesis were to study TensorFlow distributed implementation, to assess the performance of distributed Stochastic Gradient Descent according to different synchronization schemes, to implement and test the distributed version of a Deep Gaussian Processes framework.
